Sledging on the Mieminger Plateau
Once mainly popular with children, tobogganing is now all the rage with young and old alike and offers a genuine alternative to downhill skiing. Whilst the little ones slide down on their ‘Mugerln’, the older ones whizz down into the valley on toboggan runs stretching for kilometres. The Lehnberghaus is a popular destination for both visitors and locals. In winter, the 4.5 km toboggan run from the Lehnberghaus to the Arzkasten is easy to tackle and guarantees plenty of fun on the slopes.
The climb up to the Simmering Alm is a little more strenuous, taking around 2 hours. A magnificent panorama and a varied half-hour descent make up for it.
You can, of course, obtain first-hand information about the various toboggan runs in the area directly from us. You can also hire sledge or toboggans directly from us.
